SoCS: Prose from the Pod

Brush me right there

On the belly square

Along the soft, creamy hair

If you naively dare

I’m going to stay right here

Not to be cavalier, but…

Don’t go near Queenie dear

She’s up to something, I fear

I command the brush, I say

It is the pampering day

Hold the hairspray

Human, do not walk away

In the shadows I shall hide

With knowledge, abide

In safety simplified

From Ziva’s brand of homicide

Brush me, brush me now!

Or this I avow

Your behavior I will not allow

I shall get even somehow

So brush her human, I implore

Down there on the floor

Keep us safe, do not ignore

Remember, she’s a carnivore

Stream of Consciousness Saturday is the brainchild of author Linda G. Hill. Every Friday, Linda provides her followers with an inspiring blogger’s prompt. It can be a word or words and sometimes bonus points are involved (my favorite). Linda asks us to write without editing, other than correcting spelling errors.

Just go with the flow.

Like a babbling brook or rain drops. Click HERE if this type of writing floats your boat or helps with your decision-making. Your Friday prompt for Stream of Consciousness Saturday is “brush.”

Thanks Teagan! The kids are getting better at blogging, although I think they would rather be sleeping or eating or making me their slave. Purrs on the fur from Gibbs and Ziva!

I always enjoy your cat voices with your insight into their personalities. They certainly make life interesting. We are without a companion animal in the house for the first time in many years. I’m thinking of bringing the feral Mama Cat from church home this winter. I might need more band aids. Or gloves.

If my son and husband weren’t so deathly allergic I’d have a cat in a heartbeat! I’ll just have to live vicariously through this post! Love the rhymes and the story behind the poem!!

Thank you for your positive feedback! I’m sorry your son and hubby are so allergic to cats. Can they cuddle up to a dog or is that off limits too?
