Busy as a bee
That’s me
Can’t you see?
Somewhat of a crime
Always filling time
Giving reason to rhyme
Must do everything
The brain sings
Harried schedule rings
Want to read a book
Bicycle past a brook
Engage in gobbledygook
Want to socialize
Take time to spiritualize
But not mathemetize
Want to visit mom
Engage in Trek geekdom
Sample a taproom
Want to curry rice
Add a little spice
To others be nice
Need to go work out
To reduce the stout
Make a turnabout
Errands to be done
Always on the run
Shopping with the sun
I do this to myself
Stack everything on a shelf
Under the do-all elf
Let’s not mention work
The responsibility jerk
A time interference irk
Busy as a bee
Enjoying carefree
You might agree
To a nonsensical degree
In all of my buzzing, I don’t always leave time to visit fellow bloggers and for that, I deeply apologize. I’d like to share a few blog sites and their fabulous hosts who always seem to find me no matter what. Thank you for your valuable time spent at MJM and for having a place I love to visit.
Visit Cheryl at Dreaming Reality for the most fabulous photos and excellent poetry.
Cobs has plenty of squidges and crafty bits at The Cobweb Emporium.
Fellow Biker Chick and fabulous photographer Laurie at Life on the Bike and Other Fab Things. (She’s busier than me, in a very good way.)
Liz at My Favourite Pastime serves up many good things like lemon poppyseed scones and also “dishes” on herbs, spices, and much more.
Herman from Hands On Bowie followed me early on and for that I am grateful. We share a love of gray cats and Bowie will always have a special place in my heart.
Damyanti Biswas at Daily (W)rites. Damyanti is an author and the impetus for the monthly “We are the World” blogfest.
Marc Andre and associates at Katzenworld have been very good to the furry kids and I. Gibbs and Ziva have received more than their 15 minutes of fame on the blog’s infamous “Tummy Rub Tuesday.” If you are a cat lover, you need to check out their space and submit photos of your cat’s belly.
Gibbs thinks she’s a bird, but Loisajay is a human who writes at On Pets and Prisoners.
If you visit here often and I didn’t link back to your blog, it’s due to one of two things. Either 1) I’ve been keeping up with you all along (to some degree) or 2) You require further apology. I’ll get down on my knees, but feel free to link back to one of your fabulous posts so I can be reminded to visit your place.
Thanks again for reading, liking, following, rolling your eyes, and whatever ever else comes with reading my posts. I hope you enjoy hanging out here.
I don’t need to be read to enjoy reading you 🙂 If anything important comes up, like a lying woolly worm who says there won’t be a winter, I make sure you know. All the same, I do appreciate your readership.
I’m busy as a bee, too, but it’s about to die down and for this, I am SO grateful!
I do the things I’m supposed to do, this week, even on Sunday. However, there are many things I want to do, that I should do, for my own pleasure, on the list you made.
Reading books — got up early yesterday to read a book. That’s where I am now. Getting up earlier to read a book. lol
Curry rice. This, too, is on my agenda in the near future.
I want to socialize. There should be cocktails. I need to carve that time out, and soon.
While I do not need to cycle, I would like to get out and walk some good distance in some decent weather and maybe snap some pics, hold some hands, do the laughing. It’s been two weeks since I got that.
I’d also like a pedicure.
I can only dream of visiting my mother because ONE THOUSAND MILES.
Wishing you a week with more pleasures and less have-tos! 🙂
Awww Joey, thanks for your patronage and watching out for the woolly no-winter bears. If you find one, blare the trumpets and buy a case of french champagne! And invite me over.
I wanted to go for a bike ride this afternoon, but it’s cloudy, cool and windy. I chose to stay in, write a blog post and continue reading the latest book. I feel a little lazy, but think I’m entitled because I don’t get these opportunities too often.
If you can find a place that does pedicures while serving adult cocktails, that would take care of two items on your list.
I hope your dream comes true very soon. No one should be away from their momma for too long. Have an awesome week at work and with whatever else comes your way.
I think you need to carve out some tome to “Engage in gobbledygook” because that sounds like a worthwhile pursuit. I hope “The responsibility jerk” gives you a break this week.
Goobledygook sounds like an excellent flavor for coconut ice cream. Not sure what would be in it other than the mandatory dark chocolate…let me think on that awhile…
I know I’ll have plenty to do at work (HR stuff is crazy), but I have no meetings or open houses or wind, rain or snow that will take me away from my desk.
I would love a week without meetings…
Oh, Gibbs–you handsome little one. You know I don’t care what you call me–just call me. 🙂 Mary, take care of yourself. And your mom. And Ziva and the indomitable Gibbs. I hope you get the opportunity to carve out a little ‘me’ time very soon.
Vacation is coming up in July, Lois. There WILL be me time then.
I have to go…Gibbs wants to use my phone to call you. He wants to know what’s for supper.
hahahah! Love you guys!
Aswww thanks so much for including us! 🙂
And likewise we wish we had more time to read all of your posts but als life has been hectic. 😮
But I’m very happy to count you as a friend! ❤
Thank you so much, Marc, for being a friend in return and being so kind to the kids. They send their love and purrs and hope for a little less hectic.
🙂 if you and the kids fancy running a giveaway for 4cats on your blog I should be able to organise a box of toys for them. 😉
Marc, can you email me about the giveaway and what that entails. I’m hesitant to say yes due to the busy bee life as described in my post. Although, if the kids knew I might turn down a box of toys for them, they may never forgive me. 😜
😹 I’ll drop you an email tomorrow
Loved the poem, so cleverly intricate. My favourite blog finds have been amongst those recommended by blogs I enjoy, so I’m off to visit some of yours. Starting with Herman at Hands on Bowie. I see Cats, Photography and Bowie? It’s calling me……. 😉
Thank you for your positive poem comment and for being a MJM peep. Enjoy checking out the blogs links I posted…I’m positive you’ll find something or some cat you like. 😉
I share your pain about being busy, busy, busy and I too have been neglecting the blogging world. Even the staccato pacing of your poem is consistent with the topic – nicely done!
Hope this week gives you breathing time to ‘smell those roses’ … or alternatively, you are busy, busy, busy doing everything you love.
Didn’t you have a wedding to attend over the weekend? Someone important to you? 😉
I feel as though I’ll be able to breathe at work this week since I don’t have any extracurricular activities. Sometimes it’s nice to have no distractions other than regular work.
I do wish I had taken today off. Yesterday was not a good day for a bike ride; today it’s sunny and 80. Go figure…
I did have a wedding this weekend and it was wonderful 💕
… and I even managed to get in a bike ride yesterday before I took my bike in for a tuneup. I need my bike to be in top form for my Quebec cycling trip next week. I’m nervous and excited all wrapped in one.
Enjoy your week of no distractions! 🙂
I can’t wait to hear about the cycling trip! Wish I could have gone with. Enjoy and you’ll be just fine. 😎
I would have LOVED to have you come too. We would have SO MUCH fun 🙂
I promise to share my experience!!
Firstly …. thank you for the mention, my beautiful hearted blogging friend. ❤ Love you, ooodles.
Mary … sometimes life gets stupidly busy – with one thing or another – and I've been guilty of not visiting blogs sometimes when life gets in the way. But … I always get back, and find you again, and you'll be the same. You'll eventually make your way around things and find some happy time to sit back and let other people entertain you. It will happen.
LOVE the poem. You clever thing!
Sending ooodles of love and buckets of squidges – to you and the fur babies. ~ Cobs. xx
Firstly, you are very welcome! The fur babies and I will take all of the oodles and squidges you care to share.
Secondly, I often wonder how parents with jobs and kids and extra-curricular activities ever find time for themselves. As a single person with no children, I should be laying on the couch eating bon-bons. Right? Then again, life is too short to not get out and enjoy to the max. Perhaps that’s why I’m so busy…just trying to get in “life” as much as possible.
