We admit we’re drawn in by the sun
and the birds
and whatever stimulates cats
Mom says we should admit to a lot more
and much more
because we’re not always heavenly cats
We admit we love life and food
and more food
which makes us pleasingly plump cats
Mom says to admit we’re crazy
and a bit lazy
but we say we’re normal cats
We admit we want love and affection
and chin skritches
to soothe two purring cats
Mom says we should admit to witchcraft
and skullduggery
for binding her heart to two gray cats
This post of feline admission is being brought to you by Linda G. Hill’s Stream of Consciousness Saturday or SOCs. Click HERE to read other SOCs posts of the day and consider joining in after reading the rules. The main rule to remember is, “Your post must be stream of consciousness writing, meaning no editing, (typos can be fixed) and minimal planning on what you’re going to write.” Not an easy task for anal perfectionists like myself, but who said life has to be easy? Just make it fun!
They should admit to all of that and more! But, we love them and feed them and do whatever they want whenever they want it. How did it get to be this way? Great post!
I don’t have an answer to your question. Gibbs was being particularly naughty this morning, forgetting that it’s Saturday and that I would be “sleeping in.” Now that I’m awake, guess what he’s doing?
Zzzzzz – yeah, MuMu does that. Actually, Maddie got me up early today. I told her last night that I’d take her for a walk “early” – Now, I don’t / didn’t think she would understand, but at 6:30 am, she was standing and pointing at her leash. We were out before 7:00.
Then it is time to throw his rattle mice at him!
Pleasingly plump is what ours are too… and the doc is always saying that they should go on a diet. I mean, a pound or two over. Give me a break.
Gibbs and Ziva are actually pretty good for being indoor cats. They would both be a little thinner except food seems to be of ever growing importance to them.
Oh, what an enchanting poem!! What a perfect Caturday!
This was an enchantingly difficult poem to write, so I’m thrilled you like it Marian. Thanks!
Kind of hard to tell if you’re talking about cats or people… So similar…
Lol! Tis true!
Oh I just loved that! So cute!
For many years, I had only gray cats. I had Felicity, the long-haired gray and black, Casey, the gray tabby, and Catticus, like Felicity, but short-haired. When I told my mother that my FIL took Casey and that I was going to get a new kitten, she asked me if it was gray. I said there were gray and white available, and I’d take whichever chose me.
So, in our defense, Mary, all witchcraft and skulduggery aside, there is absolutely NOTHING wrong with bonding hearts to gray cats ❤
I’ve had cats of different colors in my life, but these two gray ones have really stirred the cauldron hard to place me under their kitty love spell. Mission accomplished.
So sweet!
A totally enchanting poem. Love it! ❤
from me, Cobs, and my two rascals ~ Alf Capone (used furniture dealer) and Maisie Dotes, aka Princess Tippitoes (Fairy Ballerina). 😀
I LOVE your kitty names! Alf Capone cracks me up…I hope the only dead items in your home are his kibble, the catnip mouse and a few bugs.
Sadly … he does, now and then, bring home a corpse … he once hid a LARGE pigeon under our sofa, and Mr.Cobs pulled it out thinking that it was just ‘something’. Eeugh!
He’s also a thief, bringing numerous items from other peoples gardens, and other cats cat toys too. Bless his heart. He keeps us amused. LOL.

Alf is quite the character! As long as he doesn’t bring home the neighbor’s underwear, you’re okay.
Fingers crossed! lol
ooo – I loved the ending. Yes, cats cast a strong and special spell to bind our hearts so tightly.
Amen, Joanne.
Delightful! I love writing from the perspective of animals.
Thanks JoAnna. I wish I really knew what they were thinking. Then again…maybe not! 😉
