Often, during the past couple months of staying safe at home, roommate Natasha would yell out the patio window,“Hey FedEx (or UPS) person, thank you for working the front lines! Thank you for your service!” We have been doing a lot of online shopping in order to avoid the stores whenever possible.
Much like the grocery story or the postal delivery workers, the package delivery people have played a very important part during the COVID-19 pandemic, making our lives safer while they handle packages from who-knows-where, handled by who-knows-who.
This month’s #WATWB post focuses on one FedEx employee by the name of Jodan Price, who made Emma Paternoster’s sixth birthday extra special with a cupcake delivery. You can read about it HERE.
Thanks, Jodan, for going the extra mile and being kind-hearted to a little girl who couldn’t celebrate a birthday with her friends. Her mom and I thank you for your service!

That’s such a sweet story. What a nice thing to do. A simple gesture that the little girl will probably remember all her life.
I love that he may a little girl’s day so special. Yes, she will certainly remember that day, Dan.
what a wonderful thing to do that made all the difference
A big two thumbs up for Mr. Price!
Lovely way to make a positive difference in the world.
Wouldn’t it be great if FedEx and UPS delivered a cupcake for every child’s birthday?
Yes!
Truly, the kindness of strangers.
Yes, Lois…agree! ❤
What a heartwarming story! Thanks for sharing it. These delivery folks are among our Covid 19 heroes, going above and beyond the call of duty, giving from the heart.
I hope the delivery people stay safe and are some day rewarded for staying on the job to deliver packages and birthday treats.
The sweetest story thank you Mary for sharing it! Thankfully Jodan’s son saw the efforts Emma (and her mother) were making to find him and the 2 parents were able to meet up.
Thank you also for co-hosting this month 🙂
You’re welcome, Susan. I hope the parents stay in touch and are able to develop a lasting friendship after social distancing.
Such gestures stay forever!
True, Damyanti! 🙂
Sweet, in so many ways. 🙂
Yes, it is! 🧁
What a wonderful story. Kudos to Jodan – what a kind-hearted hero!
People like Jodan give me faith that humanity is mostly kind.
Very sweet story and very sweet that these acts of kindness aren’t being taken for granted but are being highlighted. Thanks for co-hosting the WATWB.
With what is happening in the world at this moment, Kalpana, we absolutely need to hear the good stories of kindness.
I’ve always felt that it’s the humanity of the community that will get us through this and Jodan Price is a wonderful example of that. Thanks for sharing the story. 🙂
I’m counting on the positivity and kindness of humanity to see us through Heather. I hope you and the family are staying healthy and happy.
We’re all good. We’ve been very fortunate to see very few cases here and some of the routines of life are slowly returning to normal. Well, I guess, the adjusted normal.
Good to hear! 🙂
A great post, recognizing one of those people courageously making a difference. And in this case, going above and beyond.
I’m guessing there have been many others who have gone out of their way to serve during the pandemic and I hope they ae all recognized.
Right you are.
What’s not to love about a story involving the kindness of strangers ♥️
Exactly, Joanne! 🙂
UPS folks have been my heroes for years. I’m terribly agoraphobic, so I have constant gratitude for delivery people. Unfortunately the postman here is so over the top hateful about packages that I feared I was going to need to call the police. In stead, he’s going to be a character in a book. Bwahahaha.
Hugs on the wing!
Ooooh, I can’t wait to read that book, Teagan. I intermittently ordered online prior to the pandemic and now I probably order something once a week. My kettle chips are here, so a big thumbs up to the delivery person who feeds my cravings. Hugs and kitty purrs!
A great reminder that it doesn’t take that much effort to make someone’s day special.
Small acts of kindness like this make for a much better world, JoAnna.
That is a lovely story, so simple and yet so wonderful! Thanks for sharing 🙂
You are welcome. Glad to spread the positive news!
