“All is well that ends well.”
~William Shakespeare~
It’s official.
I’m retiring.
The sun is setting on forty-four years of work life.
It’s time to mosey out the door for good.
Last day in the office: September 2, 2020.
In exactly six weeks and one day, I shall be free.
Free of this work, at last.
More thoughts to come in the days and weeks ahead.
Just thought you should know…

Congratulations Mary! This is wonderful news.
Thanks Dan! I’m very excited about it.
You’re going to love it.
May you have a wonderful retirement.
I shall try very hard, Frank! 🙂
Yes! Congratulations, Mary – you deserve to retire!!
Thanks Judy. It’s been a long road and I am ready for it to end.
Enjoy !
I will!
Congrats, Mary! It looks like I can join you next week. I’m (pre-) retiring the first day of August.
Thanks Herman! Congrats on the pre-retirement and eventual full retirement. We will both have more time to harass or love our furry friends.
That is so very good.
Yes it is!
It’s a crazy world out there now…you picked a perfect time to jump in and see what it’s all about!
Once winter rolls around again, I can see myself writing and reading more, taking some online courses and getting back to my scrapbooking. I think there will be plenty to do!
Thank you for the follow!
Congratulations!
Thanks John!
Cheering for you here in sunny FL! Congratulations to you, Mary! Retirement is wonderful!!
Thank you from sunny Wisconsin! I am truly excited to be done with work, Lois.
What an exciting milestone! Hope your retirement is everything you hope it will be.
It will be a good thing, Laura!
Congratulations. I retired at the end of 2016 and once I got used to not having to work on projects, answer urgent calls, and be on call 24×7, it’s been great.
I will be happy to be free of HR, deadlines and being the Cheers Wikipedia bar. 🙂
Congratulations Mary, so much to look forward to. We wish you a wonderful retirement 🤗💖 xxx
Thanks Xenia! This is making me very happy! 🙂
👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 Say goodbye to the alarm clock, conference calls, meetings, complaining employees, and all the other BS that is required in the working world. Welcome to the club!
Yes, Judy, to all that. I’m going to leave it all behind willingly and happily.
I’m so happy for you Mary.
Thanks Cheryl!
🤗PS I deleted my IG account but you know how to find me. Too much too much for me right now. Hugs!
I will keep in touch, Cheryl. Sending hugs back!
Yay Mary!!!! 🥳 Congrats 🎉
Thanks! Yay!
I’m thrilled for you! Retirement has been the best decision I’ve made lately.
Thank you! I think it will be my best decision of the year.
I know what a huge decision that is, Mary J. Kudos. Now stick to your guns, because long about August they will start begging. 😉 Good luck. Hugs on the wing.
They are already begging and coming up with reasons for me to stay. I just laugh and say nope, not staying.
Excellent! LOL, just get a little tape recorder, and play it back to them.
I retired earlier than I’d like, but couldn’t be avoided. I gave a full year of notice. They didn’t believe me. Oh well.
Woo Hoo for retirement! And hello sleep ins, lazy lunches, bike rides and alone time. That’s wonderful news, Mary. It’s well deserved. 🙂
Thanks Heather. I’ll be happy to do all those things (and more once we’re no longer concerned with a pandemic). I’m hoping to join a local writing club and volunteer more when it’s safe to go out again.
Yippee – I’m so happy for you. Is your head spinning with all the ideas of things you’ll do once you’re retired? I look forward to seeing how well you’ll do in retirement. Congrats, Mary!
My head will be spinning once the pandemic is over. I have some plans that involve people once we can all be together again wihout masks and social distancing.
Yes, I think we’ll all have spinning thoughts once this is over. I’ve never missed sharing hugs so much in my life!
You and me both. I’m a hugger and I miss that very much.
🙂 Did you see that adorable video on Facebook of two cousins hugging after they had been away from each other for months? The tears … oh, my, yes, I miss hugs too!
Congratulations! Raising a toast in honor of your choice of busynesses. 🙂
Thanks Marian! Raising my bottle of Kevita. Cheers!
Congratulations on reaching an important milestone! Another new chapter to create epic adventures!
Thank you, Kelly, and thanks for stopping by!
How exciting to be preparing for this new adventure! I remember writing the number of days left on each day of my calendar.
Three weeks, five days… 🙂🙂🙂
🙂 🙂 🙂
SO exciting — and so close now! 🙂
Very close. I can smell it! 😏
Does it smell like FREEDOM? Oh my goodness, I hope you sleep beyond 6am 🙂
Yes, freedom! The kids and my bladder get me up before 6:00, but I’ll be able to go back to bed and not worry about an alarm.
I’m thrilled for you! Seriously, for me, that would be the best! LOL
