Crossing Optimism

“The biggest emotion in creation is the bridge to optimism.” ~Brian May~ The second biggest emotion in creation is the joy of crossing bridges on a bicycle or by foot. Truly. For today’s post, I’m keeping it simple. Following is a gallery of bridges crossed during vacation on the Root River Trail System, dedicated to blogging buddy Joey (because I know she likes them plenty). Biking friend and I crossed over 40 bridges of varying size, structure and coolness alongRead more

The Root of Psalm 23

The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. He makes me lie down in green pastures. He leads me beside still waters. He restores my soul. He leads me in paths of righteousness for his name’s sake. Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me. Linda is probably busy writing her post with a prompt and the new SOCs badge, created byRead more

I’ve walked the Newberry trail many times, but this summer I discovered the start of the Fox Trot trail is right across the road and wraps around a portion of the river.Read more

Summer Afternoon

“Summer afternoon—summer afternoon; to me those have always been the two most beautiful words in the English language.”  ~Henry James~ “Summertime is always the best of what might be.”  ~Charles Bowden~   “I love how summer just wraps it’s arms around you like a warm blanket.”  ~Kellie Elmore~  Read more
