#CBWC: Head out on the Highway

This week’s entry for Cee’s Black and White Photo Challenge (CBWC) includes photos of things to drive. Easy peasy. If you will forgive black and white photos of photos, I’m happy to share a few moments from my days as a leather-clad biker chick. I was born to be somewhat wild, always looking for adventure. The motorcycle days came to an end in late 2009 and I eventually traded in motorized two wheels for leg-powered two wheels. While I missRead more

Killing Two Trails with Two Wheels

Let’s sit down with a fish fry and malty ale and catch up on a biking adventure, shall we? On July 2nd, bike and I headed to Kewaunee, a small city on the shores of Lake Michigan, to explore a southern section of the Ahnapee State Trail. A few years ago, biking buddy and I rode the northern part of the trail, from Sturgeon Bay to Algoma, which ended up to be about 32 miles. This time it would beRead more

Bright Copper Kettles

Half and Half Bike Ride

In response to this week’s photo challenge, Half and Half, I present photos from a Wednesday afternoon bike ride on the Wiouwash trail. Blue skies, temps around 75F, and split images made it a perfect 14-mile adventure. Click on the Half and Half link at the beginning of this post to peruse the bevy of talented photographers and their interpretation of this challenge.Read more

Autumnal Adventure

But then fall comes, kicking summer out on its treacherous ass as it always does one day sometime after the midpoint of September, it stays awhile like an old friend that you have missed. It settles in the way an old friend will settle into your favorite chair and take out his pipe and light it and then fill the afternoon with stories of places he has been and things he has done since last he saw you. ~Stephen King~Read more

Biker Babes

“Whether your own or someone else’s, literal or figurative, take us on a photographic adventure.” ~The Daily Post~ Sunset, biker babe, friend, adventure. Daylight, biker babe, friend, adventure. (Peace, love and crabs to all.)  Read more

Into the Fray

fray2/frā/ noun a situation of intense activity, typically one incorporating an element of aggression or competition.   Every time the mountain bike has come out of the garage this summer, it’s been an adventure – new trails found; a battle with mosquitoes and soft sand; searching for the trail head; pedaling more miles than thought possible; enjoying views of blue water and majestic oak; hurting in places one would rather not hurt. None of the adventures, though, compare in intensity toRead more
