About

I am not a professional storyteller or poet, and do not have best.blogger.ever expectations. I dabble in the written word and chose the name of this blog because (1) I am MaryJ and (2) I intend to write about a motley assortment of “stuff” – cats, bicycles, family, traveling, enjoying a Wisconsin brandy old fashioned, having friends who always make me laugh, spending too much time on social media, flower gardening, eating healthy, exercise……or whatever else comes to mind. I have self-diagnosed, age-related attention deficit disorder (bright, shiny thing!)…my mind and thoughts tend to wander – at times in really odd directions. In 2012, I found myself yearning to write (usually while I was driving) and wanting to find an outlet for that desire. After more than a year of good intentions, I took the big step and landed at WordPress.  I hope you enjoy my posts, whether they are somewhat serious or somewhat silly.  And thank you, from the bottom of my heart, for visiting.

  3. Hi! I’ve nominated you for a ‘Versatile Blogger Award’…because you’re awesome of course. If you’re not the awards type that’s cool but if you are go get it here http://wp.me/p3CH62-pt ! Yeah, there are rules but they’re pretty easy to follow. Thanks for reading my silliness!
    : )

Thanks Melissa! I accepted this award in May, but I truly appreciate your nomination! I’ll make sure to give your blog a shout-out in one of my future posts.

I needed to ensure you were a griper of the highest order before committing to the follow 🙂
(and let’s be honest, there’s no way your hair could ever compete with THIS!)

    • bikerchick57 says:

But you like my pink hair, right? :-p Be assured that griping is a right that I practice outside of my blog. Doesn’t necessarily do me any good, but it feels good at the time.

Hi MaryJ, Thank you for following my blog, I guess our good weather prevailed 😉 Best wishes, Zainab

  9. MJ — I noticed your comments on a couple of other blogs I was checking out and “bikerchick57” intrigued me because 1.) I love Sons of Anarchy and 2.) I love to ride on the back of a MC (although I’ve never driven one and frankly it’s been over 20 years since I’ve even been on the back of one), so I wandered on over… how random is that?

Since I, too, am a cat lover and writer of randomness, I shall visit and wander about your site a bit further.

    :>

    • bikerchick57 says:

Thanks for the wandering! I no longer have a motorcycle, but I still have my leather jacket…in case a nice young man wants to take me for a ride! 😉

  10. Hi Mary. It’s nice to connect. It seems we have a lot in common. I have aging parents too.
Your blog is a joy…I especially love the lessons learned…I used to keep them in a journal, just as reminders of this beautiful journey called life. Nice to meet you!

    • bikerchick57 says:

Thank you so much for visiting and reading my blog. I will be certain to check out yours in the days ahead…nice to meet you as well!

Thank you so much! I try to keep things light, although I am prone to a serious piece now and again…just to keep everyone on their toes 🙂 Thanks for reading and following!

  11. Hello Mary,

I like your About Page, it’s so from the heart.

I get inspired to write when I’m driving, too, but for me, I’m mostly inspired to write when I’m ironing.

I’m glad you find blogging a good outlet for your writing. I like you blog, can’t wait to read more.

When you get a chance, stop by http://www.paulworthingtonbooks.com for a fun greet and meet.

Thank you Michelle! I have been nominated for this before. I won’t be responding to this (busy week) but I appreciate the thought and that you come here to read. 🙂

  13. Hi there MaryJ…

Looks like a fun blog you’ve got here, which I discovered courtesy of the cherished blogfest being organised by Damyanti,. and which I’m helping with. Hope to catch up with more of your posts in the near future…

Hi Paul! Thanks for coming around! I try to keep the blog fun, but you will find that I get serious once in a while. I will be around to visit your blog as well, as soon as I can hunker down at the computer for more than 5 minutes.

Mary, Where do you live (asked the curious bicyclist ). I’m in Colorado a small town west of Denver near the foothills.

    • bikerchick57 says:

In Wisconsin, about 35 miles south of Green Bay. Beautiful area, lots of state and local trails to investigate. The former husband and I were in the Denver area some years ago. We saw a lot of bicyclist in and around the city and as we traveled through Boulder to Estes Park.

Oh my gosh, I have always said I have undiagnosed attention deficit disorder. Half jokingly, of course. Recently, I have pondered that it’s possible all humans have it….. Nice to meet you!

    • bikerchick57 says:

The older I get, the worse the UADD gets. I hate it when I’m going in a million different directions and can’t concentrate on one thing. I’m hoping it eases up when I’m retired.

Nice to meet you too Candice Marie. I’ll be over to check out your blog.

    • bikerchick57 says:

Thank you! This has been one of the best and most fun ways I have taken a step up. Thanks for visiting and following.
