Stream of Consciousness Saturday is the brainchild of author Linda G. Hill. Every Friday, Linda provides her followers with an inspiring blogger’s prompt. It can be a word or words and sometimes bonus points are involved (my favorite). Linda asks us to write without editing, other than correcting spelling errors.
Just go with the flow.
Like a babbling brook or rain drops. Click HERE if this type of writing floats your boat or helps with your decision-making. Your Friday prompt for Stream of Consciousness Saturday is “opposites.” Use the word “opposites” or write about things that are opposites. Have fun!
Raising my hand to lots of these especially never having to many cookies and three channels with snow on the screen in between. 🙂 Fun post, Mary.
Thanks Judy. TV gas come a long way since we were kids but cookies are cookies and I think I’m going to eat one right now.
This is a fantastic response to the prompt, Mary. I like so many, I love “ Hungry Cat – Sleepy Human” – I do remember movies in theaters, only for the time they were, and three channels. I remember the sign-off, the test pattern ans The Dot.
Thanks for a fun look at the opposites in all of us. I hope you have.a great weekend,
Glad you liked the list, Dan. Ah, yes, the test pattern. I wonder what the exact date was when it went away for good. It’s been awhile since we couldn’t get up at 3:00 am to watch breaking news or old westerns. Then again, why would we?
This is a wonderful twist on the list poem form!! All of it good. Yes, I do remember the test pattern and having the option to switch from VHF to UHF and of course having to get up and turn the knob manually!!!
What would we do without our remotes? Actually, I lost the remote to my radio/CD player when I retired and packed up my office contents. Not sure what happened to it, but I seem to be put out when I have to stop what I’m doing in the kitchen to play the next CD. Silly, huh? 🙂
Excellent and relatable list! Bring on the Christmas cookies! I remember well having only three TV network channels that signed off at midnight. Black and white even. Are you saying no chance for peace between Andorians and Vulcans? Not likely, but maybe…….
There’s always hope for peace on Star Trek. As for cookies, I ate way too many of them tonight during a Christmas tree round robin. Think I’ll stay away from them for a couple days…maybe. 😏
Part of my brain says, “You know sugar is addicting and bad for you….” Another part says I haven’t had cookies in a long time, especially Christmas cookies! I’ll just try to eat SLOWLY and enjoy them.
Cute, cute list. I love all your points, but especially “%$#@&%*&#@$*&!!!” Ain’t it the truth?
Total truth, Ally! Have a wonderful Monday!
This was probably the cutest post you’ve ever blogged! I LOLed
“WordPress Works Perfectly – %$#@&%*&#@$*&!!!” LOL LOL OH LOL
Thanks Joey! I had a lot of fun with this post and, yes, I’m still swearing at WordPress. 😁
