If I were someone different, then who?
Perhaps an imp of questionable trust
A woman who without reason hates blue
Or a girl who battles an urge for lust
If I were angry, would you like me still?
The swearing, the vile looks I give to you
Or do I resist a valiant will?
A female without persevering hue
If I were not smart, would you fill me in?
I’d like to be “that girl” on Jeopardy
If I were less than political spin
What type of person would anyone see?
If I were offbeat, it would not be me
So I’ll stay the same leaf in my kin’s tree

Stream of Consciousness Saturday is the brainchild of author Linda G. Hill. Every Friday, Linda provides her followers with an inspiring blogger’s prompt. It can be a word or words and sometimes bonus points are involved (my favorite). Linda asks us to write without editing, other than correcting spelling errors.
Just go with the flow.
Like a babbling brook or rain drops. Click HERE if this type of writing floats your boat or helps with your decision-making. Your Friday prompt for Stream of Consciousness Saturday is “lid.” Use it in the literal sense, use it in the metaphorical sense, use it any way you’d like. Have fun!
You can wonder all you want, Mary, but we like you just they way you are.
Nice job with the prompt. I hope you have a great weekend.
Awww, Dan, thanks for liking the nerdiness, weirdness and other good things in me. At this point, I can’t imagine being anyone else 🙂
Deep thoughts, Mary. It’s nice to see you come full circle and appreciate who you are. “I am the best me I can be.”
I’m still working on “me” Maggie, but I’ve learned to embrace the parts thst will never chsnge.
And there is perfection in that!
Whew! That’s a relief.
For what would this often troubled world be
without our dear funny cycling Mary? 🤗❤️
Yup, you’re stuck with me, Cheryl! 😁
Like glue! 👏🏻👏🏻
I would fill you in, don’t worry. I give you permission to be what you want to be. And you don’t need my permission.
Thanks, Deborah, for letting me be me. 🙂
Thanks for this reminder to embrace who we are at the core. I’m glad you are you.
Thanks JoAnna!
