#CBWC: Walking, Hiking

This week’s entry for Cee’s Black and White Photo Challenge (CBWC) includes photos of places to walk or hike.

The majority of photos were taken while I was on the bike (naturally), but the trails and reserves in the Fox Cities host walkers, hikers, and bicyclists. We have a plethora of nature’s beauty to choose from.

A favorite spot on the Friendship Trail.
Rydell Nature Reserve on the left, Friendship Trail on the right (which leads across the Trestle Trail Bridge).
View from the boardwalk at Heckrodt Nature Reserve. Bikes are not allowed on the reserve’s trails.
Trestle Trail Bridge, a former train bridge that allows walkers, hikers and bikers to cross Little Lake Butte des Morts.
On the Mountain Bay Trail, out of Green Bay.
Bridge on Mountain Bay. The trail crosses tributaries of the Suamico River in two spots.

I’m guessing you smiled when you saw the suggested subject, Mary. These are beautiful photos, and they all look like wonderful places to hike (or bike). I love the way The Trestle Trail Bridge curves along the lake. That’s a very nice photo for black and white.

    Good job!

Thanks Dan. Yes, I smiled and thought, “Oh, easy peasy!” I like it when subjects and prompts are handed out on a silver platter.

I am really blessed with cool and pretty places to walk and bike in the area, like the trestle bridge. I only wish the non-winter seasons were longer to enjoy them.

The first image is my favorite. I have a long standing love affair with perspective shots and disappearing winding roads. Black and white photography doesn’t distract the eye from the lines, shadow and light. Nice job Mary!

Thanks Cheryl! I love perspective too and in focusing more on photography these past few years, I’ve learned about perspective and angles and getting down on my knees to shoot an interesting subject. It makes the process a bit more fun.

Thank you! If you love B&W photos, Monochromia is a great blog to visit. Several bloggers contribute their photos to the site.

These are pretty, Mary. I find I am really liking B&W a lot more than color photography.

Cee, I loved the challenge prompt…of course! The Fox Valley has so many wonderful trails, it’s hard not to find something worthy of a photo. Thank you!

Love these beautiful photographs in B&W. The trails look very beautiful too! I can imagine it’s great to be outdoors in that area…

Me too! No crowded places for me, just let me chill outside in the nature.
