I was new
blue eyes look back
through the memories
that life unpacks
I am new
blue eyes open wide
under warm covers
a pondering existence hides
I will be new
blue eyes fully singing
at a multi-colored dawn
the din of winter ringing
I am new always
blue eyes steadfast
in a sea of optimism
for a world love that will last

This is lovely, Mary. I hope your optimism is justified by what the world will offer.
Thanks Dan. I may have down days, but I’m always hopeful for a better future…especially now.
Beautiful words, beautiful eyes
Thanks for your kind words, Jack.
Well-written! My green eyes are jealous.
Ha! Thanks Ron. Don’t be too jealous, I’m sure there’s a green-eyed poem out there waiting to be written. 😉
What a beautiful poem. I feel the imagery. Thank you for sharing it!
You’re welcome and thank you for the positive comment.
This is marvelous, Mary J. I’m not much with poetry, but now and then I see one that really speaks to me — and this one positively sings. Hugs on the wing.
I’m glad you liked this poem, Teagan. Thank you! Hugs snd purrs!
