In Truth or Fiction

What path is this?

Does it head toward truth?

Or remain shaded in fiction?

Spirits, desire the straight and narrow

of a wooded lane

of earth, atmosphere, simple truth

Truth that floats with conviction

over darkness below

giving virtuous cover to fiction

Cross the bridge in honesty

In knowledge, wisdom

Throwing fantasy over rail’s side

Fiction through lies forges mud

Sucking reality into inky muck

Tempting us to sink to its depth

Truth is golden

It has no agenda, no evil

It explains itself honestly

Truth lines our path in lace

In a God’s grace and commandments

leading us to life

Stop. Stop. Which way do we turn?

Left or right?

In truth or in fiction?

Are we turning in genuineness?

Or lingering in a gray world of deceit?

An answer awaits

Thanks Dan. Yes, the photos are from a ride on Friday, after wotk. It’s a good way to clear the mind. πŸ™‚

I don’t blame you for tuning out, Judy. Sometimes the noise is far too loud. Keep relying on your common sense and you’ll be fine.

Such a lovely connection between the photos and your words. Reading this was a nice start to my day.

Very interesting and wise thoughts. Which path shall lead to the better road? And what lies there as the consequence of our choices? Excellent poem, Mary. It’s quite lovely and thought-provoking.

Lucy, I appreciate your positive feedback. Thank you! Consequences of choices…exactly why we all try to choose the best path.

It’s been draining to decipher truth from fiction in the media, unless it’s completely transparent. I know who constantly spews fiction, so I try to go with the reliable sources and make educated decisions.

How is life for you? Hope you are still well, Heather.

A beautiful area and the photos lure me into the depths of the summer. The words draw me along as well. Thanks for giving me a glimpse into your area!

You’re welcome! This is the Wiouwash trail, a place where I have spent a lot of time this summer, taking in nature and getting lost in my thoughts.

  4. Love the point you’re making here, and also love the photos! Though sometimes stories and fiction can make people realise the truth! πŸ˜„

  5. Such beautiful words of wisdom and perfect photos to go with them! The weather has been nice for biking – it’s nice to see you’ve been able to get out and enjoy the trails. Stay well and safe!
