SoCS: Tossing it Out

I‘m going to toss this out there

on a bold dare

Launch a message at will

while the neighbors fire up the grill

I’m a stone’s throw away

from saying what I need to say

The line shall be cast far out

and you’ll know what this is about

The pitch is soon to be known

without use of a cell phone

Catapluted in your direction

with a blogger’s affection

Propelled as a response

to a prompt’s nonchalance

Heaved into the air

with unadulterated care

The fling is soon to unfurl

after I give it a spin and a twirl

Give it a pitch across my lips

Lob it from swaying hips

Cast it at the diverse crowd

without being brazenly proud

Here we go with the launch of words

Loud enough so it is heard

Happy Saturday! Happy Fourth of July! Happy Weekend!

Be well, be safe, wear the mask.

Stream of Consciousness Saturday is the brainchild of author Linda G. Hill. Every Friday, Linda provides her followers with an inspiring blogger’s prompt. It can be a word or words and sometimes bonus points are involved (my favorite). Linda asks us to write without editing, other than correcting spelling errors.

Just go with the flow.

Like a babbling brook or rain drops. Click HERE if this type of writing floats your boat or helps with your decision-making. Your Friday prompt for Stream of Consciousness Saturday is β€œcheek.” Use it as a noun or verb. Have fun!

Great toss, Mary. I hope you have a wonderful long weekend. Don’t forget your mascots of independence, give them an extra scritch.

Thanks Dan. It’s probably going to feel like most other weekends, but I’ll take plenty of time to relax with the mascots. πŸ˜ΌπŸ™‚πŸ˜Ό

Not to worry. Fireworks, thunder, loud noises don’t seem to bother either one. Have a wonderful weekend, Lois!

Nice use of the prompt. And you unfurled niceties. Of course you did. We need more of that in today’s world. Happy Saturday Mary!!!!
