There are numerous positive and heart-warming stories coming from our present practice of social distancing.
So many that I didn’t think I could pick just one. That is, until I came across Doreen, Carol and Dotty in the United Kingdom, who have been dubbed the real life Golden Girls.
You can read about them HERE and make sure you watch both videos. These ladies are a hoot!
“I don’t know what I would have done without my friends,” Carol said. “All of them. Friendship is a wonderful thing.”
Yes it is ladies. It truly is.

Friendship is perhaps the best thing, Mary. Thanks for sharing this link and videos for WATWB. We cannot do this alone.
All I can say is that I can’t wait to spend time with all of my friends again. These ladies are doing social distancing right.
They are adorable! And they’ve got this–I love their plan.
They have adult beverage, Lois! And Netflix! What more do they need?
Friendship is secondary only to one’s family. Especially in how wonderful it is. Thanks for sharing this story with others and for being a part of #WATWB.
You’re welcome, Ashlynn. These ladies made me smile big time!
Hey, it’s not even Friday yet! But I like your contribution so I’ll overlook it. Friends are family, aren’t they?
I’m getting a head start, Ally. Getting the WATWB party started. Glad you like the post, those ladies are a great representation of friendship.
I love these ladies. They are all for one and one for all. I hope I have friends like this when I’m 80. Thanks for sharing.
I know. I would love to have my own Golden Girls club when I’m that age.
Friendship is essential during these dark times, and I love what these ladies have done! I imagine doing something similar with my friends when I’m older (hopefully with no more pandemics!) 🙂
One pandemic during a lifetime is enough, but if you have to get through it, why not do it with good friends? I hope you and your family are doing well and staying safe!
For some reason the first video wouldn’t play but the second one did! They’re an amazing example of getting their priorities right! Thank you Mary, this was delightful! Be well, be safe.
The second video was the fun one, so glad you could see it and enjoy these ladies. Susan, hope you are doing well and blessed with time to be still…with as dult refreshment, of course!
Friendships are so important to keep us sane at every stage of our lives! Thanks for sharing.
You’re welcome, friend. Thank you for three years of wonderful stories like this one. It’s been amazing!
What a wonderful idea. It makes me feel all warm and happy inside to think of them drinking wine and watching Netflix together. (And squabbling, of course).
I have a feeling there will be many wine induced giggles and forever memories made while these ladies isolate together.
There’s nothing like old girlfriends, especially as we get older. These ladies are setting a good example for all of us.
I hope these three make it through the pandemic unscathed so they can continue to enjoy their friendship for years to come.
Yes. I hope so, too. They’re spirits are certainly strong!
Hi Mary – I haven’t seen them on tv … but obviously they are great friends – wonderful how they’ve worked things out together – that’s wonderful. Really cheering #WATWB … thanks – cheers and take care of you and yours – Hilary
Hilary, thanks for stopping by. I hope you stay safe and well and that you can celebrate your friendships when this crisis is over.
Awww this is awesome…friendship at it’s finest. I love these types of ladies! Thanks so much for sharing and for being a part of #WATWB. Stay safe and be well! 🙂
You’re welcome, Belinda. Have a glass of wine, enjoy your friendships from afar, and stay healthy.
Sounds like a fantastic idea! You too my friend! 🙂
Friendship is my saving grace. Not only now but always.
Weirdly, as an introvert in the current climate, I’ve actually found it easier to make contact with people. I’ve initiated contact with so many friends in recent days it’s hard not to think “sorry, who ARE you?!”. 😃
I’ve been trying to talk to friends and family over the phone, rather than texting, but it seems that my newly minted life has still been busy – probably because I’m still working 40 hours. If I had those hours, I’d definitely be talking to friends who would ask the same question. 🙂
