Why is it when I saw this cat and quote on one of my cat calendars, I immediately thought of Mr. Gibbs.
This guy.
I thought, “I don’t need an annoying ghost, I already have an annoying cat.”
A cat that yowls for food and attention and nothing.
A cat that refuses to let me sleep in. Ever.
A cat that doesn’t want to follow the rule of no visits to the kitchen.
A cat who believes his needs are more important than anything.
And a cat who…
Sleeps angelic and melts my heart.
Forever.
I hope he chooses to come back like this – as the most cuddly, social, well-behaved ghost ever.

Awwww. I think Mr. Gibbs gets a bad wrap. Look at that sweet cat. (Yes, I might be just saying that in case he comes back here).
Yeah, sometimes he does, Dan. But he’s brought it on himself to a degree. Natasha keeps telling me he’s more like a dog than a cat…except for the yowling bit. I think that’s the worst of it, especially when he wakes the human.
I get that. MuMu woke me up at 3:00 am Sunday morning. Not coming up on the bed, sitting in the hallway, screaming to be brushed.
I had to LOL at the picture in my head of screaming MuMu. Cats are something…their demands always seem to hve unreasonable expectations, especially at 3 am.
Sheβs a piece of work.
awww
He is very lovable, even with all of his annoying habits.
hope to be described that way myself )
Sweet Gibbs. We love them anyway. Even when Parker accidentally claws me and then hisses like it’s my fault….
Oh, that’s funny Lois. Accidental hissing. I only get the intentional kind from Ziva when I’m trying to clip her claws.
Clipping claws–that’s a whole ‘nother thing. We can scruff Piper, but Parker comes out swinging. I get two claws done and I’m saying, “We’re good. Let ‘er go!” How do you manage that?
I try to get Ziva when she’s sleeping. Sometimes I can get one paw done before she screams bloody murder. But I keep after her until they’re done. She’s pretty mad but gets over it until next time.
Awww – a sleeping cat is like a sleeping baby … angelic, lovable, and totally irresistible π
Absolutely! Even more so when I catch my two cuddling together. π»
No visits to the kitchen! Oh my, you are a strict cat mom. And he’s such a cutie…
Well, Ally, I have a roommate to consider and Gibbs is also a terrible counter surfer if left unattended, in search of scraps. Because I never feed him. π
My cat is so yelly sometimes. I think itβs because there are other cats out in the parking lot prowling in the night. But I love him! π»β€οΈ
That’s a possible issue with Gibbs. We have a feral cat that shows itself in the tree line once in a while, but we are upstairs and I’m not sure he even sees it. I think most of it is attention seeking or a cry for the food he knows we’re cooking in the kitchen.
I’ve had two cats now that wake me as soon as I fall asleep in the living room.
They must have preferred sleeping on the bed, huh? A wake-up call to go where they are most comfortable?
That’s possible. They’re smart cats.
Awwww warms my heart too. Such a cutie.
His cuteness has a lot to do with why I brought him home in the first place. Resistance was/is futile.
Mr Gibbs looks lovely, they are especially cute when sleeping, we don’t stand a chance.
No, we don’t. It’s a subtle form of assimilation. πΌ
Oh, he is indeed sublime, M-J !
And he’s my little buddy. π
Of course he is. And he gets it, too. I love that.
XXOO
So sweet.
He is, when he’s not. :-p
He is a beautiful cat, and so very cat, all-around catness π
Gibbs cannot resist the catness. It’s in him forever.
The cuteness is in their survival manual. It’s so they can act like a-holes the rest of the time and you’ll forgive them.
We’re convinced Leo is developing dementia. Sometimes I’ll put food in his bowl, then he’ll follow me out of the laundry, yell at me that he wants to be fed and I have to get him to follow me back into the laundry and then I have to stand there until he figures out there’s food in the bowl and starts eating.
True…I forgive Gibbs all the time.
That’s interesting about Leo. Is it dementia or has his eyesight and sniffer gone bad?
We’re not really sure. It’s not really a major issue so we haven’t checked it out but we’ll see how he goes.
But that is sooooo cat! I know so many just like that
My Gibbs is definitely soooo CAT! Lol
