SoCS: The Preposition Behind a Cliff

Upon a Friday sunny

I shall write

concerning this stream

that follows through with a prompt

on behalf of Dear Linda.

It’s about 6:00 pm

and I am brain dead.

The cats are sleeping on the bed,

the laundry is spinning around,

and from within my stomach growls.

I need food,

not prepositions.

I want quiet,

not wordy words.

From beneath the patio,

I hear the neighbors drive in.

Then they drive out.

I wish they would stay home,

haul out the grill and cook me a damn wiener.

But no.

Suddenly,

I’m overly exhausted.

It has been a long week,

above and beyond the usual busy.

Too busy.

Not sure why I write

this stream across the page.

Aside from having a few minutes to ramble,

I don’t know.

I must really like Linda.

So, this is the point where I must end

by using one last preposition.

One that counts.

Here goes.

One, two three, and

jumping off…

Stream of Consciousness Saturday is the brainchild of author Linda G. Hill. Every Friday, Linda provides her followers with an inspiring blogger’s prompt. It can be a word or words and sometimes bonus points are involved (my favorite). Linda asks us to write without editing, other than correcting spelling errors.

Just go with the flow.

Like a babbling brook, ambling stream or running river. Click HERE if this type of writing floats your boat or helps with your decision-making. This week’s prompt is β€œpreposition” Start your post with any preposition. Bonus points if you end with one too.

Busy weeks should not be allowed in summer, unless all the busy is fun stuff. I hope your neighbors pulled out that grill, or at least opened a cooler. Nice SoC πŸ™‚

No grill, Dan. Only the microwave and a chicken sausage. It was all I could muster up.
Today is busy too, but it’s fun busy…food, drink, friends and relatives, and sun. Have a wonderful day!

Thanks Maggie. Yes, I had a good sleep and now I’m almost raring to go. Waiting for the caffeine to kick in…
