“Thanksgiving, man. Not a good day to be my pants.”
~Kevin James~
It’s the day before the day in the U.S. when all citizens give thanks for their blessings.
And eat like a roly poly pig on a mission.
Turkey, mashed taters, stuffing, gravy, green bean casserole, sweet potato casserole, warm rolls and butter, pumpkin pie and more.
There are some of us that watch football on this day.
Some that play games with family.
Or go to the movies.
There are those that fall asleep on the couch due to pumpkin pie overdose.
And those who try to “walk off” the pumpkin pie overdose with the dog.
Although it’s difficult to walk off all that food on little roly poly pig legs.
Anyhow…
This is a day to be thankful for all of the good things in life and the blessings of the harvest.
I am thankful for a roof over my head and food in the fridge.
For having a job and the vehicle that takes me there.
For having family, friends and a faith community.
For furry faces and a soft bed
For freedom and choices
For upright and breathing
But most of all…
For yoga pants that stretch with the roly poly Thanksgiving pig.

LOL – I love that quote too! Happy Thanksgiving to you, enjoy the day relaxing – I’ve heard that yoga pants deserve to stretch too don’t ya know :-)!
I love my yoga pants or any pants that stretch with holiday eating habits. They are one of the great inventions. :-p
Have an awesome Thanksgiving, enjoy the food and your family!
Me too…I might add a pair or two to my shopping list! Same to you – enjoy!!!
Stretchy pants will certainly be found before the day ends tomorrow. We have so much to be thankful for, but family and friends (yes, MuMu you guys are family) are at the top of the list – right next to the pie.
I hope you have a Happy Thanksgiving Mary!
Mmmmm…pie… 😛
Yes, this about covers tomorrow. And, I wish I could experience a pumpkin pie overdose, but no one in my family likes pumpkin pie except me.
That’s unfortunate, Judy. Pumpkin pie is the best, next to lemon meringue. Perhaps you’ll have to go in search of some pie at a local establishment on Friday and treat yourself.
Gotta wear the stretchy pants on Thanksgiving. I have my outfit all planned out – a loose dress and leggings! 🙂
Leggings work too! This is a day when comfort outranks style…always.
Amen too all of those!
Happy Give Thanks/Turkey Day, Claudia!
❤❤
Have a blessed day when it comes. Pumpkins disappear from the supermarkets as soon as Halloween is over in the UK. I’d love to make pie, pasties, or even juice (spot the HP nerd!).
I’ll wear my yoga pants to celebrate in spirit with you 🧘🏻♀️
One of the things I am grateful for is canned pumpkin, which is usually on the shelf year around. Thanks for being a yoga pants groupie. I think you can reward yourself with a piece of pie. 🙂
Great quote! Thanksgiving dinner is supposed to center on the turkey, but, although I do love turkey, it’s the “trimmings” I love more. Especially stuffing/dressing. And mashed potatoes. And sweet pertater casserole. And…. Oh, and punkin pie AND pecan pie!
I agree, Marian. Turkey is better the next day.
Given my current mode of gluten-free eating, I may end up in a gluten coma without much effort. 😏
Ha! Stick to the taters. 😉
KJ hit it on the head with his quote. It got me thinking: Moderation, I want more of that on Thanksgiving Day!
Have a safe holiday, Mary.
Ω
Moderation on Thanksgiving day? That’s crazy talk, Allan. Crazy… 😉
🤡
Definitely much to be thankful for this year. Happy Thanksgiving!!
Yes, indeed. Happy Thanksgiving to you as well!
I wouldn’t be caught dead in stretchy pants in my teens and twenties. Now, that’s practically all I wear. I love the furry friends and soft beds line. Happy Thanksgiving!
It’s interesting how fashion and what we allow ourselves to wear over the years changes. At one time, I too would not be caught dead in yoga pants, stretchy pants or leggings.
I’m hoping for increased time this weekend with bed and furry friends. Have a wonderful holiday weekend, JoAnna!
You, too! Enjoy!
I share your list of many blessings. I will add that I am also grateful to read you!
I am wearing my blue pajamas. We are all wearing our pajamas. Before sitting down to eat, I put on a nice blue cardigan to cover my floured top (and I washed the flour off my face as well) because civility 😛
I am stuffed, and have no intention of doing anything to counter my roly-poly! I sure hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving!
OMG, Joey, I had amazingly good food for Thanksgiving at a friend’s house and spent some time with mom. The pajamas were an excellent idea and I imagine you had a tasty and nap filled Thanksgiving.
Wonderful indeed! I’m so glad!
No nap, but tasty and happy 🙂
I didn’t even have Thanksgiving dinner yet I’m sitting here in yoga pants enjoying my breakfast in a rare bit of sunlight 🙂
Hope you enjoy the rest of your Thanksgiving weekend!
What are you waiting for? Go out today and have a piece of pumpkin pie!
… and I know just the place to get an amazing piece!!
