SoCS: Precious

Precious

Is the congregation of people

under a church’s steeple

in a mosque

praying in a temple

Precious

Are the poor and meek

and technology geek

daughters of the rich

sons of middle class

Precious

Multi-colored range of hues

those whose boundaries refuse

to hate the hateful

or exist with intolerance

Precious

Righteous sinners

lottery winners

the far-flung right

and the liberal left

Precious

Moms, dads, sisters, brothers

grandpa, grandma, plenty of others

family and friends

acquaintances, neighbors

Precious

Wisdom in the elderly

hotshot thinking cleverly

baby in its mother’s arms

tween with a fan-girl crush

Precious

All sizes and shapes

superheroes with capes

those unable to see

those who struggle to read

Precious

The lost and the found

wanderers who get around

a mystic with spirit

a realist who loves the facts

Precious

The world in large scope

nations perpetuating hope

countries at war

refugees seeking home

Precious

Humanity in embrace

millions of one face

they gather

in communal togetherness

call one another

Stream of Consciousness Saturday is the brainchild of author Linda G. Hill. Every Friday, Linda provides her followers with an inspiring blogger’s prompt. It can be a word or words and sometimes bonus points are involved (my favorite). Linda asks us to write without editing, other than correcting spelling errors.

Just go with the flow.

Reblogged this on J-Dubs Grin and Bear It and commented:
Now if this is not the most precious thing you are ever going to read, I don’t know what is! Mary created a masterpiece. Passing along greatness!!

We need more like this to unite us. We’re so divided right now. Makes me sad. Hoping your post rings true with others. Be nice to see a reblog bonanza 😂

What a wonderful thing to read before I go to bed. You know how to say what many of us only think. Thank you.

    From Gibbs

    My momma left me
    No woman in sight
    My momma left me
    No salmon tonight

When she left for work this morning
She was pullin’ a suitcase behind
She gave me an extra, guilty scritch
But no extra kibble to find

    My momma left me
    No woman in sight
    My momma left me
    No salmon tonight

I woke myself up around supper time
And I parked my fur down by the door
It never opened. She’s gone for good
I’m starving here on this floor

I tried to get Ziva to wait with me
To try to send a vibe
Sittin’ and waitin’ ain’t her cup of tea
I swear she ain’t part of my tribe

    My momma left me
    No woman in sight
    My momma left me
    No salmon tonight

It hurts when your woman leaves you
It hurts me right down to my core
I still don’t think it’s a thing she could do
So I’m sittin’ here next to this door.
