When it’s this blue…
I must.
When it’s this green…
I shall.
When the tunnels beckon…
I go forth.
When water brings peace…
I breathe.
When life tries to throw me…
I stop and rest.
When it’s this nice…
See you later, alligator.
(Wiouwash State Trail and Black Otter Lake – July 7, 2018)
It’s good to see that you listened to the call. That must be a beautiful place to ride.
The picture at the lock gate reminds me of one of my favorite bike rides (The Canal). The tow path crosses a similar set of gates at the north end of the canal.
It is a beautiful place, Dan, especially riding through the canopy of trees…plus it’s only a short drive from my apartment. I only have to watch for a few potholes, horse pies (they use the trail too) and makes sure I use the bug spray.
The lock/dam separates Black Otter Lake from Black Otter creek. And there’s part of the trail that’s very marshy on both sides, which border the lake.
🙂
This always brings the happy, Judy.
Very nice, Mary. I like the photo of your orange bike in the shade on the trail.

Thanks Allan. It’s one of my favorite places to be…in the thick of the woods. It’s so peaceful there. ☺
INCREDIBLE photos Mary. I was there with you. Breathing in the scent of the trees, the grass, the water. Everything. I even felt the uneveness of the ground as we peddled along.
A truly fabulous post. Way to go, my lovely blogging friend!
much love ~ Cobs. xxx
Glad I could take you for a virtual ride, Cobs. My favorite part of riding through nature, beside it’s beauty, is the smell of summer…leaves, grass, lake water, clover, etc. There’s so much for the senses! 🙂
Ooh! So nice for you 🙂 So nice photos for me 🙂
Of course I had to take Joey bridge photos. It’s become part of the mission. 😀
Gorgeous day!
That it was, Cheryl. I’d love three more months of that. 😎
Absolutely, Mary.
Yes – nice! There’s nothing like a quiet trail to lower the blood pressure and refuel the soul.
It has been too hot here for any pleasant riding in the past few weeks but I hope to get out for a few hours this weekend 🙂
I know us northerners always want more summer but the high temps and humidity can stay away. I hope you get out soon and have a nice long ride. 🚴🚴🚴
