Monday is almost at a close
Good thing, I suppose
While not the worst, it wasn’t the best
This Monday was a low-life pest
From a cat’s paw digging into my face
To a livelihood’s quickened pace
“Just leave me alone,” was the anthem cry
One more email and I shall die
I’m sorry, I’m not the Cheers bar
Your ridiculous questions go too far
While it’s sunny and warm outside
At a desk I must begrudgingly reside
Reviewing, redacting, copying and then
Another time-consuming request comes in
Ugh. Just freakin’ ugh.
Can I hide under a woven rug?
I’d like to trade today in
for a Magic Monday and gin
Or a day of quiet and peace
where the work flow will cease
Well, Tuesday’s another day
To get a few projects out of the way
To have a better view of things
See what a new day brings
So, I’ll get rid of this stupid frown
Ship the negativity out of town
Throw Monday behind the closet door
And clean cat puke off the bedroom floor
The door is splendid 🙂
I thought there was cat puke on my floor this morning, too, but it was a leaf and I am happy for all of us 🙂
The Monday was hectic for me, too. I’ll second the email. Annnnd, at 4, I had them all done, handled, answered — but at 5, I opened it and said, “Oh look. More.” But I made good progress today and it sounds like you did, too. Tuesdays are awful, but maybe not this one. Maybe this one will be some rare, sweet Tuesday 🙂 I hope!
One of the kids puked on the bedroom floor in three places…after the cleaning lady was here. Arrgghh!!
Tuesday will be better, but if not, there’s always Wednesday. 😏
I do like that door. Cat puke? the number one reason I wear slippers. I like the idea of a Magic Monday. I didn’t have one, but I like the idea. This is the first five-day week of the year, and it’s all I have to look forward to until Memorial Day 😦
I hope you have a happy Tuesday.
I have off on MLK day, but it’s going to be cold so…
Yeah, looking forward to Memorial Day and warmer weather and fewer crazy Mondays.
There’s something nice about a holiday. I know I could take a vacation day, but I’m not going to do that just to have a cold Monday off. I’ll just march onto Memorial Day.
Is that door in your place, Mary?
It really is incredible!
So sorry about your day, which you’ve detailed so perfectly in your poetry.
Onward to Tuesday!
No, that is not my door or my cat, Laurie. Just a great photo from the internet. The end of Monday can only lead to a better Tuesday!
Monday must have been National Cat Puke Day. Theo, too, graced me with a pile of it on the bedroom floor. I can only be grateful that this time he chose the hardwood floor and not the carpet – or the bed. Double ugh when that happens!!
I hope Tuesday is much kinder for you.
Well, now I don’t feel so bad…except my kids don’t have hardwood floors to puke on. It’s either the bed or the carpet. Funny, it never happens in the cat tree.
I’m going to make Tuesday better, it has to be. 😀
