“Everything has beauty, but not everyone sees it.”
~Confucius~
Dear Hole in the Leaf:
We see it,
the beauty that you encircle.
The world on the other end
awaits.
This is the path to greatness
of nature and space.
This path of wood and gravel
leads us to the universe,
the one of beauty.
The one of green forests, azure oceans, purple mountains and fields of wheat.
This path of modest description
leads us to a world of over seven billion people,
beautiful people,
who build, create, invent, repair, teach, or simply hang out.
This path of twists and turns
leads us to immeasurable wonders,
big and small.
Man-made damns, painted toads, castles and fjords
This path of life
leads us to unseen blessings
and emotional allure
of love and friendship and community
This path leads somewhere
to the beauty that is at our fingertips,
it’s right there,
through your hollow,
if we simply see it.
Beautiful words from an inspiring photo. I love that you are able to see all of that.
Thanks Dan! I took the photo back in July and forgot about it until I came across it today. The words seemed to flow, which doesn’t always happen. Glad you enjoyed the post.
It’s one of this things that remind us of how simple little things can reveal amazing beauty, if we look deep enough.
I’m so impressed by those who can express themselves with poetry. I particularly like that last stanza (stanza, right?).
If we simply see it. Excellent!
It’s taken a little practice and patience, Laurie. I found that I can’t force poetry. I have to wait for it to come to me and have time to let the words flow. Thanks for the positive comment!
Well that’s just lovely. 🙂
Glad you liked it!
Gosh, you’re clever. Not just the photo, but those amazing words.
Thanks H. It’s a good thing that I didn’t try to write that tonight…brain dead…
Understandably. It’s Friday night for you. I, on the other hand, am in lazy Saturday morning mode. 🙂
Good for you. Stay in your pajamas until noon.
Lovely! Surprise windows to the world.
Indeed they are. Thanks Cheryl.
