Community: Paper and Bows

This week, in a post created specifically for this challenge, show us community, and interpret it any way you please!

014

Back in May, I blogged about my church in a post titled “Picture of Giving”. It was a post about a June rummage sale, a year-round event called ProjectX, and the giving heart of the Mission Church community.

When I saw the weekly photo challenge theme, I immediately thought of this community. December 14th is ProjectX day. It’s a day when this community comes together to shop, wrap and deliver presents to families who are in need of grace and unconditional love. This year, Mission Church will be able to help 25 families in the Fox Valley area, which is an incredible feat for this small church.

The picture is from ProjectX 2012, when wrapping was winding down and many were off to deliver presents. The picture is sparse, but it speaks volume about this community.

One person committed to finishing the final present, the love of community wrapped in paper and bows.

Love seeing this. It does make one feel better to give back to the community during the holiday season.

It always reminds me that life is pretty darn good and that there’s so much I could want for that I already have.
