For this week’s (Weekly Writing) Challenge, let’s celebrate and use the online tools we have. The one requirement is to include at least three elements: 1) Text, 2) A minimum of one image, 3) A third media component.
This is a holiday dedication to my all-time favorite rock band and shopping. If you’d like musical accompaniment to sing along to this post, click on the link. (Thanks to my friend Natasha for her assistance with this post.)
Just a small town girl
Shopping at Wally World
She took the shopping cart
Goin’ down the aisle
Just a city boy
Born and raised in Arkansas
He took the shopping cart
Goin’ down the aisle
A shopper with a pail and broom
A smell of soap and cheap perfume
For ten bucks they can buy a lamp
Sales go on and on and on and on
Strangers searching
Up and down the many aisles
Their footsteps searching
For the ri-i-ight
Bargains, people
Livin’ just to find a TV
Hidin’ somewhere in the aiiiiiisles.
Workin’ hard to get the cart full
Everybody wants a deal
Doin’ anything to not pay full price
Just one more time
Some will win
Some will lose
Some will sing the bargain blues
Oh the shopping never ends
It goes on and on and on and on
Strangers searching
Up and down the many aisles
Their footsteps searching
For the ri-i-ight
Bargains, people
Livin’ just to find a TV
Hidin’ somewhere in the aiiiiiisles.
Don’t stop your shopping
Hold on to that to-o-oaster
Bargains, peopa-a-a-a-ale!
Don’t stop your shopping
Hold on to that ble-e-ender
Bargains, peopa-a-a-ale!
Don’t Stop.

Wonderful chica!! You should be on “Whose Line is it Anyway?”
LOLOL! Doing the Irish drinking song?
Hah, too funny. Sorry, but I’m taking a break this year. We’re making gifts for each other. I think I love Christmas again.
I think that’s a great idea!
Mary J MELANGE? What a hoot! 🙂 I s’pose it is, really. Listen, are they true, all those FRIGHTFUL photos of people who shop at Walmart that do the email rounds? I can scarcely believe most of ’em. But maybe I’ve just led a sheltered life … :-}
Margaret, I don’t know if I’ve seen the photos or emails of Wal-Mart shoppers. Perhaps I’m the one who’s sheltered? Thanks for enjoying the title of my blog…just trying to come up with something original! 🙂
