It’s hotter than Dutch love outside. The humid heat is channeling Planet Sun, where eggs disintegrate on the pavement and sweat comes out of a body’s pores within seconds – just before melting begins.
A scorcher is predicted for Tuesday, with a heat index around 100 degrees. I feel sorry for the plants on my patio, as the afternoon sun heats the wooden planks to a few degrees above hell. The blooms seem to be flourishing, though, with constant water and a few kind words. My hope is that the petunias, vinca, lobelia and pansies survive the heat as they survived the torrential rains in June, so I can continue to enjoy their color and beauty until the crisp air of fall arrives in September.
I am hoping the same for my deck garden. Your flowers are beautiful!
Thanks Judy, I hope your plants survive.
Geraniums and petunias seem to thrive in heat, but it’s amazing that the lobelias and pansies are doing so well. Great captures, Mary. I like the butterfly trellis!
I have had others say that it’s strange my pansies are still thriving. They must be taking their vitamins!
